A few weeks ago, I was showing my sketchbook to an acquaintance in class. I was flipping through the pages and he was doing the usual "heh, nice". When I flipped to the
Day 3 page, he chuckled and said, "I see that you've been enjoying your psychedelics." I just smiled. I could tell by his expression that he was being serious. It is intriguing that my drawings seem to convey this idea to people.
This is not the first time someone has looked at my drawings and incorrectly assumed that I took drugs. I guess I do draw some weird stuff. Psychedelics are to artists and musicians as steroids are to athletes. In a way, musicians and artist use these vices as performance enhancers. I think it is safer to just stick with working hard.
